Appo deepo bhava — be a light unto yourself. These were the last words of the Buddha. Not a command, but a recognition: the light was never outside you.

This fall, I am gathering a small group of women at the healing waters of Rangeley Lake — my hometown — for something I have never offered before. Five days of sacred fire, mantra, sound healing and a medicine I have been waiting years to bring into this container. We will work with the 9th verse of Sri Sukta as our daily anchor, and at the center of our time together is a full day held in ceremony around the fire.

The property sits on its own peninsula, surrounded on three sides by the lake. Sauna. Hot tub. Labyrinth. Granite fire circle. Everything the land needs to hold this kind of work.
